Learning your golf equipment

Golf is one of the more intricate sports that require a ball. Most sports do not have as much equipment required as golf does. In basketball, all that is needed is a ball and a hoop and then a game is ready to go. Some sports such as football, where all that is required is a ball, have fewer requirements. However, golf is an intricate sport that requires a lot of items. One of the most important items needed to play golf is the golf club. The golf clubs are needed to hit a golf ball. They are arguably the most integral part of the game. Each club is made up of a shaft with a lance grip that is at the top end. At the bottom end, it has a club head. There are different types of golf clubs and they are used in many different situations. The long clubs are those that are meant to propel the ball a longer distance and there are certain short clubs that are meant to propel the ball a short distance. Usually, the actual length of each club is longer or shorter, depending on the distance the club is intended to propel. Thought this is the norm, it may not always be the case. However, the best and most experienced golfers are able to easily decipher what types of clubs are needed in certain situations. Mostly everyone knows that the driver is the largest club. This special club has the largest head and also the largest club and not surprisingly is the one used to make long strokes. Woods are slightly shorter but still large clubs, with large heads. As golf has increased its popularity, the rise of hybrid golf clubs has begun to take off. Many golfers today just simply prefer to stick with the hybrid golf clubs because they can be used in many situations and it reduces the hassle of choosing a different club for different situations. Another very popular golf club is the putter. The putter is almost always used in certain situations where the distance between he ball and the hole is very short. Putters are used to roll the ball across the green into the cup. The most number of clubs that a player can hold in a bag is 14, and with the rise of hybrid clubs today, many golfers usually don’t come close to this pre set limit. The choice of clubs is up to the golfer, as long as they are in accordance with the rules. Another important equipment piece is the golf ball. These golf balls are white and spherical. They are also minutely pock marked by certain dimples that decrease aerodynamic drag by decreasing the air turbulence around the ball in motion. Because of these features, the golf ball is able to travel further than most balls. The ball and the club are the two integral parts of a golf game. There are also many other equipment pieces, but these two are the centerpiece of everything.
